Dr. Janet Riebe
lPlover and Stevens Point , WI Veterinarian – Woodhaven Animal Health
Career: Since graduation from Veterinary School, Dr. Riebe worked at practices in Green Bay and Plover
Dr. Janet Riebe has always had a love of animals since she was young. Her mother recalls as a child, Janet would always want to care for any sick or injured animal in their neighborhood. It was this innate compassion for animals, coupled with her interest in biology and general science, that led her to a career in veterinary medicine.
Dr. Riebe started her career in Green Bay in 1992. She relocated to central Wisconsin in 1994, working as the small animal veterinarian for Corriente Animal Hospital. Dr. Riebe established her own practice in 1999, starting the clinic in her home. In 2001, the clinic was relocated to the current facility in Plover.
Dr. Riebe enjoys all aspects of veterinary practice, especially surgery. She enjoys the clientele as well as the staff. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, mountain biking, camping, hiking, snow shoeing, reading, baking, Green Bay Packer football, and catering to her dogs and cats .
She is the proud “parent” of Ronnie (aka Veronica), a Labrador Retriever mix from the Humane Society of Waupaca County and Logan, a Labrador Retriever from the Forest County Humane Society. She also has a domestic short hair cat, Milton (from the Humane Society of Waupaca County), Bud, a Paint horse, Marley, a miniature horse and two goats, Hansel and Gretel . Dr. Riebe shares her home with her husband, John, who is also a small animal veterinarian.
Dr. Megan Wehrwein
Plover and Stevens Point, WI Veterinarian – Woodhaven Animal Health
Education: Undergraduate studies at University of Minnesota – Duluth; Graduate of UW-Madison, School of Veterinary Medicine
Career: After graduation, Dr. Wehrwein worked at a practice in Oshkosh before joining the staff at Woodhaven Animal Health in 2016
Dr. Wehrwein enjoys all aspects of veterinary practice, especially preventative care, dermatology and fostering the human-animal bond. Dr. Wehrwein commented that she was eager to work at Woodhaven because she feels the standards of care and the staff are exceptional. She also loves the outdoors, camping, hiking and being “Up North”. She enjoys traveling, cooking and baking, spending time with her dog, and cheering on the Badgers!
Dr. Wehrwein is the proud “parent” of Toby, a Labrador Retriever, who was adopted from a family member in 2011.
Lisa - Certified Veterinary Technician
Lisa has worked at Woodhaven since 2001. Lisa says she enjoys helping people take care of their pets in order to improve their quality of life. Lisa enjoys all aspects of her job, especially radiology and surgery. In 2009, she passed the national exam to become a certified veterinary technician, and continues to attend various seminars to keep her skills current .
Outside of work, Lisa spends most of her time training for agility, obedience and barn hunt with her dogs, and loves to snowmobile as the weather permits in Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula. Lisa is the proud parent of Gage, an English Springer Spaniel and Fly, a Russell Terrier.
Jamie - Certified Veterinary Technician
Jamie joined our team in May of 2007. Jamie enjoys seeing patients that have medical problems improve with treatment.
During her time at Woodhaven, Jamie has taken a special interest in surgery, as well as behavioral issues of pets. In January of 2010 Jamie passed the national exam to become a certified technician, and continues to seek out informational lectures to keep her knowledge current.
Jamie is the proud “parent” of two Dalmations, Karma and Pax, along with Maci & Lexi, domestic longhair and short hair cats from local Humane Societies. Tobias, a spirited domestic shorthair cat, is her most recent addition to the family.
Annie - Veterinary Assistant
Annie has worked at Woodhaven since 2006. She says she really enjoys working with the clients and her co-workers. She feels she is a part of something that is truly the best choice for pets and people in the area, as the clinic tries to incorporate all aspects of health care, such as nutrition, chiropractic care, laser therapy, etc. She commented that, “I feel like we have the whole package, and people feel like we have good options”. Annie has a special interest in surgery and dentistry, assisting the technician and Doctor on a daily basis. She also enjoys the ability to interact with the clients.
Outside of work, Annie enjoys international travel, photography, kayaking, snowshoeing, hiking, reading, horseback riding, spending time with all her animals, and listening to many types of music. Annie is the proud “parent” of Janka, a Rottweiller, as well as three horses (Sonny, Malachi and Max), and two donkeys (Henry and Mabel)! She shares her home with her husband, John, and has a daughter, Destiny.
Dana - Veterinary Assistant
Dana joined the staff of Woodhaven in 2016. She says she really enjoys working with all the different dogs and cats, along with her great co-workers. Dana loves the variety that each day brings, always learning something new and different.
Outside of work, Dana enjoys volleyball, wake boarding and snowmobiling. She is the proud “parent” of Payton, an American Pit Bull Terrier, along with Payton’s puppies, Jax and Alina.
Mary - Receptionist
Mary was a long time client, and was delighted to have the opportunity to join our team at Woodhaven in 2013. She states that we all share a common bond of wanting the best care for our pets, and she feels that it is so satisfying to play a part in serving the needs of our clients and their pets.
Mary enjoys taking in the beauty of nature while walking with her dogs and caring for her flocks of Guinea hens and Buff Orpington chickens. She also enjoys gardening. She shares her home with her two dogs, Tink, a Pom-zu, and Toby, a Corgi. She also has two cats, Tippy and Jezebelle (Jezebelle was originally a clinic cat for Woodhaven). Mary also has two chickens and five guinea fowl. Her family consists of her husband, Jon, and her “finest and proudest work”: her sons Jon Ross and Evan.
Amy - Receptionist
Amy joined our clinic in 2011 and is currently our full-time receptionist. She enjoys getting to know our clients and patients. She commented, “It’s very easy to not only establish professional relationships with our clients, but also close personal relationships with many”. Amy appreciates seeing the variety of dogs and cats that come into the clinic, with German Shepherd Dogs, Corgis and French Bulldogs among her favorites. She also likes to satisfy her inquisitive nature by quizzing the medical staff about the various health issues that exist in some of our patients. Amy has an extensive customer service background, including her work for the Wisconsin Humane Society in Milwaukee where she worked as an Adoption Counselor. As a bonus, Amy would frequently foster dogs and cats in need of some extra TLC.
Amy is an avid reader and also enjoys attending various summer and fall festivals to experience the food and live music. She shares her home with her two cats Fozzie and Tiki, both adopted from humane societies.
