The Standard of Care

When surgery is necessary, we want to provide the highest standard of care for your pet.

As a pet owner, you want to ensure that your pet experiences minimal discomfort during and after a surgical procedure.

To better serve you and the needs of your pet, we are pleased to offer laser surgery as a safe and beneficial alternative to conventional surgical methods. We believe this is the standard of care, so the laser is used for most surgeries performed at Woodhaven Animal Health.

Benefits o f Laser Surgery

Increased Precision
The laser delivers an extremely fine beam of light which vaporizes cells, allowing for precise removal of small amounts of tissue.

Reduced Pain
The laser beam seals nerve endings as it cuts through tissue. As a result, your pet experiences less pain when laser technology is used.

Reduced Bleeding
The laser beam seals small blood vessels during surgery, thereby reducing the amount of bleeding during surgery. This will reduce blood loss for the patient and improve accuracy for the surgeon.

Reduced Swelling
The laser beam penetrates your pet's tissues with extracting precision, without physical contact with the tissue. This allows the surgeon to effectlively seal the the lymphatic vessels responsible for post-operative swelling.

Laser Surgery facilitates quick wound healing, making it possible for your pet to resume normal activities much quicker than with conventional surgical methods. Laser Surgery reduces the amount of pain, bleeding, swelling, and bruising of tissues, while expediting your pet's recovery after surgery. The Carbon Dioxide Laser is safe to use for most surgeries, including spays, neuters, declaws, and mass removals.

Laser Surgery allows us to maintain a high standard of care for our patients.

We are proud to offer our clients state-of-the-art medical and surgical services.
